Hospice benefit Midpeninsula Pathways Hospice and its fundraising store, Treasures in Menlo Park, will benefit from sales of jewelry by a local artist on Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, at the Nature Gallery, 87 Town & Country Village in Palo Alto. Carol Garsten, owner of Nature Gallery, said 10 percent of all sales of items during Los Altos artist Carole Brown's jewelry trunk show will be donated to the hospice and Treasures. Ms. Brown also will donate items to be auctioned off at an artist reception on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Ms. Garsten chose the nonprofit group as beneficiary for personal
reasons: The hospice provided services for her mother, Norma Tager, who
founded the gallery in 1987. Ms. Tager died of breast cancer about five
years ago. For more information, call the gallery at 327-8700. The Valparaiso Singers will present its annual fall concert, "Sing Me to Heaven," on Sunday, October 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1105 Valparaiso Ave., Menlo Park.
