The Valparaiso Singers is a
small choral ensemble based in Menlo Park, California. This group, the majority of whom are members of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has performed together since 1984
throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, in Southern California, and at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. They have also appeared at Carnegie Hall
under the direction of Jerold Ottley, former
conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and again with England’s famed John Rutter. Most notable was their
humanitarian tour to Russia in the fall of 2000, delivering medical equipment
and supplies as well as concertizing in Moscow, Voronezh, and St. Petersburg.

Judith Stewart, director, has conducted numerous adult and
children's choirs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, produced
several musicals and has taught at regional music workshops.
James Welch, accompanist, is on the music faculty at Santa Clara
University. He holds a DMA in organ performance from Stanford University
and concertizes worldwide.
